Collectors sing praises of Oregon’s new stamp
Artist Gregory Manchess of Beaverton created the oil painting of the Oregon coast featured on a U.S. stamp to mark the state’s 150th birthday Feb. 14. Collectors crowded a first-day-of-issue ceremony Wednesday at the World Forestry Center in Portland. About 30 million copies of the 42-cent stamp have been printed.
